Tailored microbial control solutions for the improving efficiency of oil & gas operations
This presentation will discuss the technical collaboration between the IFF Microbial Control Group (MC) - (now LANXESS Material Protection Products) - and a North Sea operator that resulted in the development of a new biocidal product to address a challenging microbially-induced souring (H2S production) problem faced by the operator. The original treatment of the reservoir with a THPS-based drinkbiocide and nitrate had failed to control souring in the field and the operator approached MC (now LANXESS) for help in developing and implementing novel treatments for managing the issue.
